Bowie Zug Road House Fire Displaces Two Children and an Adult
Prince George’s County crews arrived shortly after 10:45 p.m. Saturday to a two-story split-foyer house on the 8300 block of Zug Road; two children and one adult were displaced and no injuries were reported.

Prince George’s County Fire & EMS crews responded shortly after 10:45 p.m. Saturday to a working residential fire at a two-story split-foyer house in the 8300 block of Zug Road in Bowie, displacing two children and one adult, county officials said. The call came on the night of Feb. 21, 2026, and crews moved quickly to contain the blaze.
Firefighters arriving on scene “found flames showing throughout” the house, and the department described the pattern of spread to investigators. “They found fire throughout the home, which appeared to have started on the outside and spread inward, according to the department,” a department account said.
Operations brought the incident under control and crews extinguished the fire; the Prince George’s County Fire & EMS post on X stated, “Fire is out, no injuries. Fire Investigators on scene. @PGCountyOEM to assist 1 adult & 2 children displaced. Prince George's County Fire/” Local reports echoed the department’s update: “Crews extinguished the fire with no injuries reported; however, the county’s emergency management office is assisting two children and one adult displaced by the incident.”
Prince George’s County Office of Emergency Management has been identified as the agency assisting the displaced residents. Patch reported that “the county's emergency management office is assisting the three residents displaced by the fire,” consistent with the department’s X post. At this time county officials have not released a formal damage estimate or final confirmation that the structure is a total loss.

Some local coverage included different counts and details. One outlet’s headline fragment indicated “PGFD: 2 adults, 3 children displaced after Bowie house fire” and another fragment said “Officials say the fire impacted a total of three units.” Those figures conflict with the Prince George’s County Fire & EMS post and other contemporaneous reports; county officials have not publicly confirmed the alternative count.
Fire investigators remained on scene after suppression to begin a cause-and-origin review, and officials stated the cause of the fire is under investigation. The timeline established by responding units begins with the call shortly after 10:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, and concludes with fire crews declaring the incident extinguished and investigators working at the 8300 block of Zug Road while the county’s emergency management office provides aid to the displaced occupants.
