Brandywine Crash Kills 60-Year-Old Resident, Police Investigating

Tony Andrea Johnson, a 60-year-old Brandywine resident, died at the intersection of Brandywine Road and Letcher Road on Saturday evening after a two-vehicle collision that sent the other driver to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Prince George's County police were called to the Brandywine/Baden area at approximately 6:05 p.m. on March 14, where officers found the two vehicles involved in the collision. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver, identified by officials as an adult female, was transported to a hospital; her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
According to the preliminary investigation, Johnson was traveling northbound on Brandywine Road when, for reasons still under investigation, he appears to have lost control of his vehicle before it collided with the second vehicle. Police have not released information on vehicle types, speed, or other contributing factors, and no charges have been announced.

The Prince George's County Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is leading the investigation. The intersection of Letcher Road and Brandywine Road was closed while crash investigators worked the scene.
