Prince George’s County police are asking for help finding 16-year-old Jamiya Dority, who was last seen April 4 at about 7:30 p.m. in the 4400 block of Rena Road in Suitland, MD 20746. Dority is 5 feet tall, weighs 152 pounds, and was wearing a white crop top and black pants. If you see her, call 911 right away.

Families in Suitland who are checking on children, relatives or neighbors should pay close attention to recent movements, text messages and any change in routine around the Rena Road corridor. If there is any concern for safety, call 911. For non-emergencies, Prince George’s County Public Safety Communications can be reached at 301-352-1200, and callers should press option 5 for police dispatch. The National Runaway Safeline is another place families can turn for help, especially when a young person may have left on their own.

The alert comes as county leaders have moved to reinforce missing-person reporting rules. The Prince George’s County Council approved DaCara Rose’s Law, CB-2-2026, unanimously, 11-0, in early April. The measure was named for DaCara Thompson, who was reported missing from Hyattsville in August 2025 and found dead a week later, and it is meant to make clear that there is no waiting period to file a missing-person report.

Police have not said where Dority may have gone, and they have not released information about possible phone or social media activity. A public record in Missing People in America still lists Dority, age 16, as missing from Suitland with an April 4 date and an April 11 update timestamp, showing the case remains active in public circulation.

Anyone with information can also contact Prince George’s County police through General Information at 301-336-8800 or Media Relations at 301-772-4710. In a county that has already been reminded how quickly a missing child can turn into a fatal emergency, every minute matters.
