Rockwall County GOP men’s club clay shoot draws strong sponsor support

Hiley Chevrolet’s $7,500 title sponsorship helped push the Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club’s inaugural sporting clays tournament into strong early demand, with all premium sponsorships sold out before the first shot is fired. The sponsor lineup signals more than a fundraiser. It shows local business backing, Republican organizing and community fundraising converging around one of the club’s biggest first-year events heading into the 2026 election cycle.

The tournament is set for Friday, June 19, 2026, at Texas Gun Ranch in Terrell, at 15950 State Highway 205. Registration is scheduled for 9:30 a.m., with shooting beginning at 10:30 a.m. Team sponsorships are priced at $1,500 for four-person squads and include ammunition, station signage, breakfast, course snacks, a catered lunch from Pablo’s of Heath, plus access to a post-event open bar and afterparty.

Interest had already translated into sales by late May, when 16 of the 30 available team registrations were spoken for, leaving 14 still open. Organizers are also seeking silent auction donations and offering supporters a way to sponsor teams for local police officers, firefighters and other community servants, tying the event to first responders as well as partisan politics.

Proceeds from the shoot will support Republican nominees in the November 2026 General Election. The Rockwall County Republican Men’s Club describes itself as a conservative political organization focused on conservatism, liberty and civic engagement, and club president Scott Dodson, who is also president and CEO of Compression Works, LLC, thanked sponsors and said the event is expected to be successful and impactful.

Texas Gun Ranch, a private shooting club with two sporting clay courses and a practice area, regularly hosts public sporting clay tournaments and charity shoots. That makes the Terrell venue a familiar fit for a first-year event that is already drawing enough sponsor support to stand out in Rockwall County’s political calendar. If the early sellout holds, the club’s clay shoot could become a durable fundraiser with real reach in the county’s donor and GOP network.
