Rockwall opens pool season 2026 with affordable open swim hours

A Rockwall resident family can spend just $2 for open swim at Gloria Williams Pool, instead of $100 an hour to rent either city pool, a difference of $98 in the first hour and $198 over the city’s two-hour rental block. For parents trying to keep kids busy without a long drive, that makes the city pools one of the cheapest summer outings in town.

Rockwall’s Open Swim season runs through Friday, August 7, at Harry Myers Pool, 815 E. Washington, and Gloria Williams Pool, 801 Davy Crockett. Regular hours are Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with Sundays closed. The city has also set special extended hours for June 29 through July 3 and August 3 through August 7, when open swim runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Admission stays low for residents and still remains modest for nonresidents. At Harry Myers Pool, children under 2 are free, ages 2 to 17 pay $1 for residents and $2 for nonresidents, and adults pay $3 for residents and $5 for nonresidents. At Gloria Williams Pool, children under 2 are free, ages 2 to 17 pay $1 for residents and $2 for nonresidents, and family admission is $2 for residents and $3 for nonresidents.

The city’s pool rules are straightforward and matter for anyone planning a visit in the heat. Proper swim attire is required. Jeans, non-swim diapers, glass containers, alcohol and drugs are not allowed, and children under 10 must have adult supervision. Families that show up prepared can move through the gate faster and avoid a wasted trip.

Rockwall is also using the aquatics season for more than open swim. Swim lesson sessions are scheduled for June 1 through 11, June 15 through 25, July 6 through 16, and July 20 through 30, giving families several chances to get younger swimmers comfortable in the water before the hottest stretch of summer hits.

The pools sit inside a broader parks system that gives Rockwall families more than a place to cool off. Harry Myers Park includes sports fields, a disc golf course, a dog park, a fishing pier, a kayak launch, playgrounds, spraygrounds and trails. Gloria Williams Park adds a swimming pool, basketball goals, picnic stations and a playground. That mix of low-cost access and close-to-home convenience is what makes open swim a practical summer staple for Rockwall.
