Rockwall Yellowjackets Down Royse City Bulldogs 5-2 in League Play
Rockwall's Yellowjackets scored three runs in the fourth inning to pull away from Royse City 5-2 on the road Tuesday night.

The Rockwall High School varsity baseball team traveled to Royse City on Tuesday night and came home with a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs, improving to 4-7 on the season in a league matchup that wasn't decided until a pivotal fourth inning.
Rockwall broke the game open with three runs in the fourth, adding a single run in the second and another in the fifth to build the final margin. Royse City managed its only scoring in the bottom of the fifth, plating two runs, but the Bulldogs went scoreless in every other inning. The Yellowjackets finished with six hits and committed two errors, while Royse City collected four hits and played a clean game defensively with no errors recorded.
The win came against a Royse City squad that entered Tuesday's contest at 12-3 overall, ranked 159th in Texas and 51st in both their section and state division. The Bulldogs boasted a .800 winning percentage on the season and had outscored opponents 105 to 52 across 15 games. Rockwall, by contrast, came in as the decided underdog, sitting below .500 on the year with 94 runs allowed against 73 scored.

The district split tells a sharper story: Royse City dropped to 0-1 in league play with the loss, while Rockwall claimed a 1-0 district mark. According to team-reported stats and a recap published by MaxPreps, Rockwall's season record moved to 4-7 with the win, though a separate MaxPreps snapshot lists the Yellowjackets at 4-7-3 with a 2-2-3 home record and a 2-4 away mark. The discrepancy in those figures should be confirmed against the live MaxPreps team page.
The two programs meet again Friday, March 13, this time at Rockwall's home field, in a 6A Region II District 10 contest. The rematch gives Royse City an immediate chance to even its district record, while Rockwall looks to build on its first league win of the spring.
