Royse City edge rusher Kingston Rodgers lands Oklahoma State scholarship offer
Oklahoma State has offered Royse City edge rusher Kingston Rodgers, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound Class of 2028 defender with 46 tackles and 3.5 sacks.

Oklahoma State’s scholarship offer to Royse City edge rusher Kingston Rodgers puts a Rockwall County defender on a Big 12 track and gives Royse City High School another early recruiting name to watch. Rodgers, listed at 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, is a Class of 2028 prospect who already has the size and production college staffs want to see.
The offer adds to a growing list for Rodgers, who has also drawn scholarships from Texas State, Lamar and UTSA. On3 classifies him as an Elite Class of 2028 defensive lineman with an industry ranking of 82.33, while 247Sports lists him as an edge prospect out of Royse City. Rodgers’ recruiting timeline has moved quickly for a player still early in his high school career, with the Oklahoma State interest now sitting alongside a broader run of Texas and regional attention.
His on-field production helps explain the buzz. MaxPreps lists Rodgers with 46 total tackles, 33 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, 15 quarterback hurries and three fumble recoveries in the 2025-26 varsity season. In a Nov. 7 game against Longview, he logged six solo tackles, eight total tackles and a sack. Against Forney, he posted eight total tackles and 4.0 tackles for loss, a performance that underscored how disruptive he has been off the edge for Royse City.

Rodgers’ profile also reflects how early major programs have started tracking him. On3 shows an unofficial Oklahoma State visit on June 15, 2025, along with unofficial trips to SMU on June 2, 2025, TCU on June 7, 2025 and Texas on Oct. 11, 2025 and Nov. 28, 2025. Hudl lists him as a Royse City High School boys varsity football player wearing No. 11, and his profile features highlights from the 2025 season.
For Royse City, Rodgers’ rise points to the reach of the program under head coach and boys coordinator Drew Colvin. Oklahoma State’s pursuit also fits a larger Texas recruiting pattern for the Cowboys, a Big 12 program that continues to mine the state for defensive line talent. With an offer now in hand and Stillwater already on his visit list, Rodgers’ next steps will be closely watched in Royse City and across Rockwall County.
