Bath Garden Club to Landscape Woolwich Municipal Building Grounds
Woolwich selectmen voted Thursday to let the Bath Garden Club landscape the municipal building grounds, with plant costs covered by the municipal building budget.

Woolwich selectmen voted Thursday to accept a Bath Garden Club proposal to landscape the lawn surrounding the Woolwich municipal building, with the cost of plants to be drawn from the municipal building budget.
The vote, taken at the board's March 19 meeting, hands the Garden Club responsibility for designing and planting the grounds around the town's municipal building. The arrangement reflects a civic partnership that puts volunteer horticultural expertise to work on public property at relatively low cost to taxpayers, with plant purchases the primary line item charged to the municipality.
The selectmen also used Thursday's meeting to discuss the 2026-27 municipal budget, though no vote on that matter was reported from the session.
The Bath Garden Club, based across the Kennebec River in Bath, has a long tradition of community beautification projects throughout the region. The Woolwich municipal building grounds will be the club's latest public landscaping effort.
