The City of Farmington’s monthly public safety report for November 2025 recorded 5,383 total incidents, with officers responding to 3,510 calls for service and initiating 1,873 incidents through proactive enforcement and patrol activity. The volume and variety of incidents underscore the range of demands on local police resources and the types of risks residents may encounter.

Traffic-related enforcement accounted for a substantial portion of officer-initiated activity. Officers conducted 664 traffic stops and completed 657 close patrols. The department documented 176 crashes without injuries and 26 crashes involving injuries during November; police made 35 DWI arrests and linked 12 crashes to alcohol. These figures reflect persistent traffic safety challenges that directly affect residents’ daily travel and public road safety.

Common calls for service included 313 animal complaints and investigations, 272 welfare checks, 202 reports of unwanted subjects, and 199 suspicious person or vehicle reports. Those recurring call types indicate ongoing community concerns ranging from animal control to public safety checks.

November included several serious incidents. On Nov. 4 investigators probed a fatal burglary-related case involving the theft of a large dump trailer, an inquiry that remained ongoing. That same day a crash near East 20th Street and Chaco Avenue between a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle resulted in a motorcyclist’s death. On Nov. 19 officers responded to shots fired at Memory Gardens; no one was struck, and one individual was arrested on multiple misdemeanor charges as evidence linked him to firing multiple rounds; Extreme Risk Firearms Protection Order paperwork was filed. An aggravated battery investigation on Nov. 29 led to felony charges after two people suffered head and facial injuries, and detectives collected DNA evidence.

Enforcement and records processing consumed significant department capacity. Officers filed 634 offense reports, producing 1,487 merged reports when supplements and arrest segments were included. The department served 114 warrants and reported 138 active warrants at month’s end. Law enforcement issued 655 traffic citations, 34 non-traffic municipal citations, and parking enforcement issued 51 tickets. Evidence technicians processed 439 pieces of evidence or property, bringing the total inventory to 25,517 items; 427 items were destroyed according to procedure.

Public transparency work remained substantial: the department conducted 524 public records inspections, closed 727 public records requests, and processed 47 formal IPRA requests. The report also documents a Nov. 12 school safety response for a reported weapon threat; no weapon was found and the student was released to a parent with juvenile authorities notified.

City officials say November’s data will help evaluate staffing, patrol strategies, and public safety priorities. December 2025 data is expected in coming weeks, offering residents further detail on trends that shape policing and community safety in Farmington.
