Victoria Hanahbah Cohoe, 31, of Sanostee, was arrested on West Main Street after allegedly striking a Toyota 4Runner in a hit-and-run and then firing a gun during the confrontation that followed, adding a felony weapons charge to a criminal record that already spans three DWI-related cases.

Farmington police were called at 5:20 p.m. March 19 to the Popeyes parking lot at 2121 W. Main St. The trouble had started nearby: a Nissan Versa with a temporary tag struck a Toyota 4Runner on West Main Street between Murray Drive and Gooding Lane, then drove away without stopping. The 4Runner's driver, Hendrick Silentman, followed the Versa to the Popeyes lot to confront the driver. According to a statement of probable cause, Cohoe "stuck her hands out the driver's side window" and "shot off one round into the air."

Officers searched the surrounding area and located the Nissan at the intersection of Hicks Avenue and West Main Street, where Cohoe was arrested without incident. Officers noted the smell of alcohol on her breath, blurred eyes, and slurred speech. She refused to submit to a breath test and failed standard field sobriety tests.

Cohoe was charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony; shooting at a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony; and misdemeanors including aggravated DWI, driving without a license, and unlawful carrying of a weapon.

Court records show Cohoe's contact with the criminal justice system over the prior decade was persistent and escalating. She pleaded guilty in 2018 to a second DWI, in 2021 to driving intoxicated with a minor in the vehicle, and in 2023 to possession of a controlled substance. She received probation in all three cases, with that supervision ending in October 2024.

Cohoe was booked March 19 into the San Juan County Detention Center and released the following day. A preliminary examination is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. April 1 in Farmington Magistrate Court.
