Public Meeting for Isleta Blvd Construction in Bernalillo County South Valley
Bernalillo County brings its Isleta Blvd construction team to Los Padillas Community Center on April 9, four days before active work begins between Malpais and Luchetti roads.

Bernalillo County will bring the construction team for Phase I of the Isleta Boulevard Corridor Project to the Los Padillas Community Center on April 9, giving South Valley residents a final opportunity to review plans before active construction begins on the stretch between Malpais Road and Luchetti Road on April 13, 2026.
The gathering at 2117 Los Padillas Road SW marks the third public meeting for Phase I of the project. Attendees will be introduced to the construction team, receive an overview of the work schedule and proposed phasing, and have county staff and project representatives available to answer questions about the transition into active construction. Reported start time is 6 p.m.; NewsBreak lists the meeting running until 7 p.m. while KRQE reports it ends at 7:30 p.m. Residents should confirm the exact end time with the project team before attending.
The project is a collaboration between Bernalillo County, the New Mexico Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration, with the stated goal of improving safety and accessibility along southern Isleta Boulevard.
"Public input is crucial as we progress with this important infrastructure project in the South Valley," said Elias Archuleta, Deputy County Manager of Public Works. "We encourage all community members to attend this meeting to remain involved and informed of the project's progress as we continue this important work in the South Valley."
South Valley residents, business owners, and community partners who cannot attend in person can reach the project team by phone at 505-527-2657 or by email at gmulibarri@bernco.gov. An additional project contact is available at francine.pacheco@wilsonco.com. The county has not announced a virtual attendance option for the April 9 meeting.
