Rio Rancho Man Shot Near Clayton Meadows Park, Hospitalized
A man found with a gunshot wound near Clayton Meadows Park was rushed by ground ambulance to UNM Hospital; no arrests have been made.

A man was found lying near Clayton Meadows Park in Rio Rancho's Northern Meadows neighborhood with a gunshot wound and transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital downtown by ground ambulance, the Rio Rancho Police Department confirmed March 11.
"Rio Rancho police responded to an incident near Clayton Meadows park where a male subject was found to have sustained a gunshot wound," RRPD stated in a release first reported by Rio Rancho Observer staff writer Michaela Helean.

The victim's condition has not been released. Multiple outlets, including KOAT Action 7 News, reported that "the status of the man's condition is currently unknown at this time." No identifying information, including the man's name or age, has been made public.
Officers were actively processing the scene along Clayton Meadows Drive for evidence as of initial reports, according to RRPD. No arrest has been made, and no suspect description has been released. KOB confirmed that "no one has been arrested at this time," a status that remained unchanged through Thursday as the investigation continued.
The shooting drew coverage from multiple Albuquerque-area news stations, including KRQE and KOAT, in addition to the Rio Rancho Observer, which covers Northern Meadows as part of its local beat. RRPD has not disclosed whether the shooting was targeted or random, how many suspects may be involved, or whether any witnesses have come forward.
