Rio Rancho Police Report Shows Multiple DWIs, Shoplifting Arrests
Rio Rancho police recorded 24 arrests and summonses between November 30 and December 6, with a cluster of aggravated DWI cases, several shoplifting incidents, and multiple household violence reports. The pattern underscores ongoing public safety concerns for drivers and residents, and reminds community members that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

Rio Rancho police reported a week of enforcement activity from November 30 through December 6 that included a high number of aggravated driving while intoxicated cases, several shoplifting arrests, and multiple incidents involving alleged domestic violence and restraining order violations. The entries, recorded by the department during that seven day span, named 24 people who were either arrested or summoned on a variety of charges.
Several incidents involved alleged impaired driving with refusal to submit to testing. On November 30 Lidia Madrid, 49, and Gabriel Maes, 20, both of Rio Rancho, were arrested on aggravated DWI charges for refusing testing, along with related vehicle registration and traffic violations. On December 1 Sophia Causby, 60, of Las Cruces, and Matthew Guydelkon, 46, of Rio Rancho, were arrested for aggravated DWI with refused testing and other traffic offenses. Additional impaired driving arrests included Eric Boles on December 2, Taylor Putman on December 4, Michael McCord on December 6 who also faced a controlled substance possession allegation, and John Garcia, 88, who was arrested for DWI and careless driving on December 6.

Shoplifting arrests were reported at major retail locations and local stores. Manuel Ramos and Joseph Chavez were arrested for shoplifting, with Chavez taken into custody at the Walmart on Unser Boulevard. Felicia Candelaria was arrested at the Walgreens at Southern Boulevard and NM 528, while Tammy Sanchez and Heather Trimble were cited for shoplifting related incidents on December 5, with Trimble also summoned on a charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The blotter also recorded a series of alleged household violence incidents and restraining order violations. Arrests for aggravated battery against a household member were logged for Ricky Washington and Rigoberto Mendez on December 1, and other household battery matters included Douglas Venenga and Michael Apodaca. Restraining order violations and summonses involved Moses Mondragon, Lindy Sena, and related entries.
These entries reflect local enforcement priorities and have direct implications for community safety, traffic enforcement and retail security. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Anyone whose charges are dismissed or who is acquitted may submit paperwork to the newsroom for correction of the record.
