Allegiant adds nonstop Orlando Sanford flight to Trenton, New Jersey
Visiting family, snowbirds and budget flyers get a $59 nonstop to Trenton, giving Sanford a cheaper direct Northeast option than a connection through a larger hub.
Seminole County travelers heading to New Jersey will soon have a cheaper, simpler option from Orlando Sanford International Airport, with Allegiant adding a nonstop flight to Trenton that could matter most for visiting family, budget-conscious flyers and snowbirds who want to avoid a connection.
The Sanford-to-Trenton route begins October 2, 2026, with introductory one-way fares starting at $59. Allegiant is also offering 1,000 Allways Rewards bonus points as part of a limited-time booking promotion, a sign the airline is using price and loyalty incentives to build early demand on a route aimed at leisure travelers.

For local passengers, the biggest change is not just another destination. It is a direct Northeast link from Sanford, which means fewer total travel hours and less exposure to the delays and missed connections that can add cost to a trip through a larger hub. That makes the route especially relevant for Central Florida families with ties to New Jersey, retirees splitting time between states, and travelers who have been priced out of more complicated itineraries.
Allegiant chief commercial officer Drew Wells said the new routes are meant to increase travel options and keep affordable fares available despite industry changes. The Sanford addition fits into a broader expansion strategy the airline announced on May 19, 2026, when it added eight new nonstop routes to Florida across markets including Fort Lauderdale, St. Pete-Clearwater and Orlando-Sanford. Earlier, on Nov. 18, 2025, Allegiant said it would add 30 new nonstop routes connecting 35 cities and enter four new markets, including Trenton-Mercer Airport.
The move also strengthens Orlando Sanford International Airport’s role in the region. The airport says Allegiant operates from Terminal B, and Sanford’s destination list already includes a wide spread of U.S. leisure markets. That gives Seminole County residents another direct choice without having to rely on Orlando International Airport for every trip north.
For Sanford, the Trenton route adds more than a new dot on the route map. It reinforces the airport’s niche as a lower-friction, value-driven alternative for travelers who care as much about total trip cost and convenience as they do about the fare itself.
