Altamonte Springs to Host 12th Annual Walk for Parkinson in April
More than 1,000 walkers are expected Saturday at Cranes Roost Park for the 12th Annual Walk for Parkinson, a one-mile fundraiser during Parkinson's Awareness Month.

More than 1,000 people living with Parkinson's disease, their care partners, and community supporters are expected to fill Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs on Saturday for the 12th Annual Walk for Parkinson, a one-mile accessible fundraising loop organized by the Parkinson Association of Central Florida.
The event runs from 8 a.m. to approximately 10:30 a.m. at 274 Cranes Roost Blvd. Registration opens at 8 a.m., opening ceremonies begin at 9 a.m., and the walk steps off at 9:30 a.m. The timing places the 12th edition of the event squarely inside Parkinson's Awareness Month, giving the morning its most public context yet for Central Florida's Parkinson's community.
PACF, which coordinates exercise programs, caregiver education, wellness initiatives, and low-cost patient resources across Seminole and neighboring counties, uses the walk as its primary Central Florida fundraiser. The one-mile loop around Cranes Roost Park is designed to accommodate participants at every stage of the disease, with the course accessible to wheelchair and walker users.

The event draws physicians, local businesses, advocacy groups, and volunteers alongside patients and families. Vendor booths and wellness resources will be set up throughout the morning. PACF encourages team registration and offers t-shirts to fundraisers who reach specific dollar minimums. Volunteers can sign up in advance for roles that include registration, course marshaling, set-up and tear-down, and vendor assistance.
Cranes Roost Park's broader calendar includes additional family activities that same weekend, so early arrivals can expect a full lakeside setting before the 9:30 a.m. walk. Organizers recommend comfortable shoes and water. Registration is available in advance through the Parkinson Association of Central Florida's website.
