Casselberry Art House Hosts Women Artists Group Opening Reception This Spring

The Women Artists Group brought a decade of creative collaboration to Lake Concord Park on Friday, opening a month-long exhibition at the Casselberry Art House titled "Moving Forward" as part of a broader spring arts push by the City of Casselberry.

The seven-member collective, which has been meeting since 2015 to encourage individual professional growth, share art opportunities, and provide feedback on artistic endeavors, exhibited work spanning pastel, oil, acrylic, pen and ink, and pencil drawings. According to event listings, the artists "express diverse interpretations of a changing world in both natural and abstract forms." The exhibiting artists are Beatrice Athanas, Francine Levy, Eliza Pineau Casler, Marianna Ross, Bonnie Shapiro, Debbie Smith, and Lillian Verkins.

The opening reception was held Friday, March 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Art House, located at 127 Quail Pond Circle directly behind Casselberry City Hall. Admission was free, and Casselberry Food Trucks were on location that evening.

The Art House itself is a 2,500-square-foot facility that has operated since 2002, offering community space for art classes, exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, artist lectures, and musical performances. It sits within Lake Concord Park, which includes a walkable sculpture garden featuring more than 30 large sculptures. The facility is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be reached at 407-262-7720.

The "Moving Forward" show is part of a larger slate of programming the City has been building across its two gallery spaces on Quail Pond Circle. Past exhibitions at the Art House have included the Art Glass Guild of Central Florida's GLASSTASTIC show in December 2023 and the Conexión reception in September 2024, reflecting the City's ongoing use of the venue for rotating group exhibitions.
