Drake Milligan Brings Country Sound to Sanford's Tuffy's Music Box March 29

Drake Milligan, the Texas-born country singer who finished third on "America's Got Talent" Season 17 and earned a CMT Music Awards nomination for his single "Sounds Like Something I'd Do," performs Sunday night at Tuffy's Music Box & Lounge on Sanford's South Myrtle Avenue. Doors open at 7 p.m. for the March 29 show, with the performance starting at 8 p.m. The event is 18-plus.

Milligan and his band first seized national attention on "America's Got Talent" in June 2022, earning four "yes" votes from the judges with his original song "Sounds Like Something I'd Do." He finished the season in third place. The performance sparked an immediate career surge: the song skyrocketed to the top of the iTunes country chart. His debut album, "Dallas/Fort Worth," was later named one of the best country albums of 2022 by Billboard.

Milligan is also known for portraying Elvis Presley on the CMT series "Sun Records." That performance style earned him the moniker "the Elvis of country" from AGT judge Howie Mandel. His musical influences include George Strait, Elvis, Alan Jackson, Randy Travis, and George Jones. He released the EP "Jukebox Songs" in February 2024, and later hit the road for his Jukebox World Tour, headlining shows across the U.S., Europe, and the U.K.
