Five Seminole County baseball teams win district championships in strong postseason run
Five Seminole County schools won district titles in one week, with Lake Mary grinding through upsets and a road final to keep the county in the postseason spotlight.

Seminole County baseball put five district champions on the board in one postseason week, a surge that turned the Seminole Athletic Conference into one of Central Florida’s loudest playoff forces. Hagerty, Lake Howell, Lake Mary, Winter Springs and Orangewood Christian all won titles, while three other county teams finished as district runners-up.
The strongest storyline came from Lake Mary, which was seeded No. 3 in Class 7A-District 4 and still walked out of West Orange High School with its fourth straight district crown. The Rams beat Seminole 6-1 in the quarterfinal round, knocked off Apopka 8-4 in the semifinals and then edged host West Orange 3-2 in the championship game. Lake Mary entered the final with a 16-9 record, and the run showed the kind of late-season form that can change a bracket quickly.

Hagerty added another trophy by beating Winter Park 7-6 for the Class 7A-District 3 title. Lake Howell handled East River 4-1 to win Class 6A-District 4, while Winter Springs dominated Edgewater 13-0 in the Class 5A-District 6 championship. Orangewood Christian also brought home hardware, beating The Geneva School for the Class 1A-District 8 crown. Together, the results spread across public and private schools and across multiple classifications, a sign that the county’s depth is not limited to one program or one level.
The playoff timing makes the sweep even more important. Florida’s district round began April 14, and the state championship bracket is set for May 13-20 at Lee Health Sports Complex in Fort Myers. Regional quarterfinal matchups were still to be announced, but these district wins gave Seminole County teams a direct path into the next stage with momentum and seeding leverage.

Three other Seminole County teams also finished as district runners-up, including The Master’s Academy and Lake Mary Prep, underscoring how many local programs remained in the hunt. Last year, six Seminole County teams won district titles and 13 county teams were still alive in the postseason at one point, and this spring’s results suggest that Seminole County remains a statewide baseball hotbed with more bracket games still ahead.
