FK Architecture Opens Applications for Central Florida Architecture Scholarship
FK Architecture opened applications for its $1,500 Robert & Joanne Koch Scholarship, open to Seminole, Orange, and Osceola County high school seniors pursuing architecture.

A Maitland-based architecture firm has opened applications for a merit scholarship honoring the founders of one of Central Florida's longest-standing design practices, with a deadline of April 26, 2026 for graduating high school seniors across Seminole, Orange, and Osceola counties.
FK Architecture, a Fugleberg Koch company, launched the current application cycle for the Robert & Joanne Koch Scholarship for Architecture, a $1,500 award established in honor of Robert Koch, co-founder of Fugleberg Koch, and his late wife Joanne. The scholarship recognizes more than 50 years of commitment to industry leadership, professional education, and knowledge-sharing that the couple contributed to the architecture and design fields through professional associations, civic organizations, and educational forums.
"Here at FK, we're dedicated to finding ways to support future architects in our local community," said Ken Linehan, AIA, Managing Principal at FK Architecture. "We hope this scholarship helps the recipient achieve their goals and lead them to a successful career in architecture."
One award will be given this cycle. Eligible applicants must be graduating high school seniors with a permanent family address in Orange, Osceola, or Seminole County, enrolled in or accepted to the first year of an accredited architecture program in Florida. FK's materials point to several pathways, including the 2+2+2 program connecting Valencia College, the University of Central Florida, and the University of Florida; programs at Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and the University of Miami; and first-year acceptance to the University of Florida's School of Architecture in the College of Design, Construction, and Planning.
To qualify, applicants must hold an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher and submit a packet that includes two letters of recommendation, a 1,000-word or less essay explaining how they plan to make a difference in the world through an architecture degree, and copies of standardized test scores from the College Board or ACT. Only students who have already received acceptance to a college or university are eligible; applicants who have not yet been admitted should wait before submitting.
The $1,500 award is paid directly to the recipient's educational institution in a single installment and may be applied toward tuition, room and board, and other mandatory educational fees.
All materials must be postmarked by April 24, 2026, and mailed to FK Architecture, attention Ken Linehan, Maitland Center Parkway, Suite 125, Maitland, FL 32751. Linehan can also be reached at kenl@fkcompanies.com or (407) 629-0595 for questions about eligibility or application requirements.
