Habitat for Humanity Launches 2026 Women Build Across Altamonte Springs, Sanford

Habitat for Humanity Seminole–Apopka formally launched its 2026 Women Build initiative on March 9, bringing dozens of women-led volunteer teams to active build sites in Altamonte Springs and Sanford throughout the month of March in recognition of International Women's Month.

The annual fundraising and volunteer campaign coordinates team participation and charitable giving across both locations simultaneously, targeting the persistent need for affordable housing in Central Florida. The two-site structure extends the program's reach across Seminole County, pairing the nonprofit's longstanding Altamonte Springs presence with construction activity in Sanford.

Women Build is a recurring effort for the affiliate, which operates locally as Habitat for Humanity of Seminole County and Greater Apopka, Florida. The program brings together community members, civic groups, and corporate volunteers who fundraise alongside their build-day participation, directly supporting the organization's mission of constructing and improving homes in partnership with families who need a decent and affordable place to live.
