Lake Howell Softball Beats Seminole 11-7, Kerr Drives In Five RBI
Kayden Kerr drove in five RBI, a career best, as Lake Howell's softball team beat rival Seminole 11-7 at home on April 2.

Kayden Kerr connected for a home run and drove in five runs, the most of her career, as Lake Howell High School's softball team beat crosstown rival Seminole High School 11-7 at home on April 2, pushing the Silverhawks to 6-10 on the season.
Senior pitcher Riley Hodosko set the tone from the circle, working five innings without allowing an earned run on just two hits. The outing extended a stretch of exceptional command: Hodosko had not walked more than one batter in any of her previous six appearances, a consistency that college scouts prize and that gave Lake Howell's defense a chance to play loose behind her.
While Hodosko steadied the game, the Silverhawks overwhelmed Seminole's pitchers with relentless pressure at the plate. Lake Howell posted a .526 on-base percentage as a team, forcing Seminole to repeatedly work out of trouble throughout the afternoon. Seminole finished with a .219 OBP, a disparity that shows up clearly in the 11-7 final.
Kerr's five-RBI night led the offense, but Skaii Rodriguez gave it a second engine. Rodriguez reached base in all five of her plate appearances, added a home run and scored multiple runs, giving the middle of Lake Howell's lineup repeated opportunities to do damage.
The win carries weight as both programs head toward district play. Seminole, dropping to 7-9, will look to reset against Lake Mary in its next scheduled game. Lake Howell turns its attention to Cornerstone Charter Academy, with a lineup that now has a clear identity: keep runners moving, let Hodosko limit walks, and let Kerr hurt you when the count matters.
