Lake Mary, Trinity Prep boys win regionals, advance to state finals
Lake Mary and Trinity Prep boys won regionals, and Seminole County’s parks are hosting a state tennis run that still has several local schools in play.

Lake Mary High and Trinity Prep turned Seminole County into the center of Florida high school tennis, winning regional championships and moving into this week’s state tournament at home-court venues in Altamonte Springs, Casselberry and Sanford.
Lake Mary reached the breakthrough with a 4-0 win over West Orange in the Class 4A regional semifinal, while Trinity Prep rolled past The First Academy 4-0 in the Class 1A regional semifinal. Those results sent both boys programs on to state after regional play, giving Seminole County two more teams with a clear shot at a championship run.
The local depth did not stop with the two regional winners. Hagerty, Lake Brantley, Seminole and Lake Howell were all in the Class 3A regional bracket, Winter Springs represented Class 2A, and Orangewood Christian and The Geneva School were in Class 1A. With quarterfinals already in the books, semifinal winners moved forward and the regional championships followed, keeping several Seminole County schools alive in the postseason.
The Florida High School Athletic Association scheduled the 2026 state tennis championships for April 27 through May 1, with Classes 2A and 4A playing Monday through Wednesday and Classes 1A and 3A taking the courts Wednesday through Friday. The event was staged at Sanlando Park, Red Bug Lake Park and Sylvan Lake Park, three county parks that also hosted the 2025 championships in partnership with the Greater Orlando Sports Commission.
USTA Florida said the state event included both team brackets and individual singles and doubles championships, so the stakes extended beyond school trophies to individual titles as well. For Seminole County, the draw mattered on two levels: it put elite tennis in front of local fans at familiar parks, and it confirmed the county’s place as one of the state’s strongest high school tennis hubs across public and private schools.
