Blake McKinniss, 37, of Sanford is facing 100 criminal charges and a potential 1,026-year prison sentence after Florida Department of Law Enforcement investigators executing a search warrant at his residence found child sexual abuse material on his electronic devices, child-like sex dolls, and bedrooms decorated for a little girl despite no children living in the home.

Attorney General James Uthmeier announced the arrest on March 17, flanked by law enforcement representatives. "Law enforcement and prosecutors walked into a house of horrors upon executing this search warrant," Uthmeier said. "This guy could spend the rest of his life in prison, and I'm grateful our team worked to ensure he never has access to our kids."

The 100 counts break down into 53 charges of possessing child sexual abuse material, 46 charges of possessing AI-generated child sexual abuse material, and one count of possessing a child-like sex doll. The AI-generated charges reflect what investigators say is an emerging threat: the tip that triggered the case, received by FDLE on January 27 from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, specifically reported a user prompting the creation of abuse material using artificial intelligence. Investigators traced the IP address to McKinniss.

FDLE executed the search warrant at his Sanford residence on March 9. What investigators found inside prompted Uthmeier to say "what law enforcement saw when they arrived left them speechless." Beyond files on electronic devices, the home contained children's clothing and toys throughout, sexual paraphernalia, and bedrooms staged to appear occupied by a child. Investigators confirmed no children lived at the address, and McKinniss had no contact with children at the time of his arrest.

The Seminole County Sheriff's Office and the Sanford Police Department assisted FDLE in the investigation. McKinniss is currently held at the Seminole County Jail on $350,000 bond. The Office of Statewide Prosecution will handle the case in the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Florida.

Uthmeier used the announcement to highlight broader statewide enforcement efforts, noting his office had removed more than 1,400 child predators from Florida streets in the past year and helped rescue 300 to 400 children who had been previously reported missing. He also thanked Representative Plakon for supporting legislation aimed at keeping convicted predators away from children.

"We have to nip these evil villains in the bud before they can lay a finger on our kids," Uthmeier said.
