Seminole High girls win Ian Supra Memorial, move to 14-0
Seminole goalkeeper Julia Pando recorded 37 saves as the girls beat Lake Mary 13-8 to win the Ian Supra Memorial and improve to 14-0 on the season.

Seminole High School’s girls water polo team captured the Ian Supra Memorial Tournament championship in Orlando, closing the weekend with a 13-8 victory over Lake Mary and improving to 14-0 on the season. Julia Pando recorded 37 saves during the tournament, a performance credited by the school feed as a key factor in the run to the title.
Seminole opened the Ian Supra Memorial on Feb. 27 with a 9-6 win over Winter Park and followed later that day with a 12-6 victory against Olympia. The semifinal on Feb. 28 saw Seminole beat West Orange 13-8, and the same day the Seminoles finished the bracket with the 13-8 championship win over Lake Mary. Those game results are listed in the team’s MaxPreps game log for Feb. 27 and Feb. 28, 2026.
Julia Pando recorded 37 saves during the tournament. Halle Zimlich added three assists and 10 steals, while Vivian Swain contributed eight assists and two steals. Those statistics were highlighted in the Seminole athletics recap posted March 3, 2026, under the headline "Seminole girls win, boys 4th at Ian Supra Memorial."

The Seminole boys’ squad also competed in the Ian Supra Memorial and finished fourth. The boys defeated Belen Jesuit 11-10 in overtime and beat Westminster Academy 14-13 before falling to St. Thomas Aquinas 10-8 in the semifinals and losing the third-place game to Dr. Phillips 13-12. The school recap noted, "The boys’ team defeated Belen Jesuit 11-10 in overtime and Westminster Academy 14-13 before falling to St. Thomas Aquinas 10-8 in the semifinals and Dr. Phillips 13-12 in the third-place game. The boys finished fourth."
Seminole’s unbeaten start to 2026 sits on a broader run of tournament success this winter. Earlier in February the girls won three games at the Lake Nona Invitational, beating Boone 7-4, Gainesville 10-1 and Windermere 9-4 on Feb. 14. On Feb. 21 Seminole posted a 16-5 win over Westminster Academy at the St. Andrew’s Invitational, and the roster logged a 13-7 victory over Ransom Everglades at the Forza Stefano Tournament on March 6.

The 14-0 start this season echoes recent program highs: Seminole’s roster two years ago captured the FHSAA state championship and finished that campaign 31-0. Captain Cassidy Hardin reflected on that run, saying, "I think that’s what’s helped us a lot during the season is just how well we all got along and how we play as one big team as opposed to individual people trying to all play together," and, "The biggest lesson learned this year is to never give up."
With the Ian Supra Memorial title and a spotless 14-0 ledger, Seminole has reinforced the program’s standing in Seminole County and left area rivals watching as the season moves toward district and regional competition.
