Silver Alert Issued for Endangered Adult Near Wilson Rd in Seminole County
FHP activated a Silver Alert Monday for a cognitively impaired adult reported missing near the Wilson Road and International Pkwy corridor in Sanford.

Florida Highway Patrol activated a Silver Alert Monday afternoon for an endangered adult reported missing near 4975 Wilson Rd and International Pkwy in Sanford, placing one of Seminole County's busier mixed-use corridors on alert for a potentially vulnerable missing person.
The alert, issued March 30, designates the individual as cognitively impaired, the classification Florida law applies to people suffering from conditions such as Alzheimer's disease or dementia who have become lost while traveling on foot or by vehicle. FHP had not released identifying details, including a name, age, or physical description, when the public notification went out that afternoon.
The Wilson Road and International Parkway area sits near the Interstate 4 interchange, where apartment complexes, retail centers, and residential neighborhoods sit in close proximity. That access to I-4 sharpens the urgency of the search: a disoriented person on foot can reach multiple connecting roads within minutes, and someone in a vehicle can exit Seminole County before a wider regional alert takes effect.
Florida's Silver Alert program, enshrined in state law since 2011, runs through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse. FHP handles the public notification once a supervisor authorizes activation, triggering roadway message signs, wireless emergency broadcasts, and media alerts across the region. The system was built specifically around the vulnerabilities of cognitively impaired adults who wander, a concern that intensifies as Seminole County's senior population grows alongside the county's broader development.
FHP's Troop D, which covers Seminole County operations, issued the notification. Anyone who spots a person matching the description when it is released should call 911 immediately and avoid approaching the individual directly.
