Winter Park Tool-Theft Shooting Suspects Denied Bond After Lake Mary Chase
One suspect shot a Rigal Windows worker three times; a judge denied bond for Frederick Callaway, 37, and James Robinson, 28, who face attempted felony murder charges.

Frederick Leonzo Callaway, 37, and James Robinson, 28, remain locked in the Seminole County jail without bond after a Seminole County judge denied bail Wednesday for both men, who are accused of opening fire on two window installers at a Winter Park construction site before leading police on a chase that ended with their vehicle crashed into a Lake Mary shopping center.
The shooting was reported Tuesday, March 24, around 3:50 p.m. at a home near Overlook Road and Sylvan Boulevard. Javier Riano, owner of Rigal Window Installation, said his crew of four men were working upstairs in the home when they noticed a suspicious car outside. Workers confronted the two masked men over missing tools and equipment, and when the men got in a car to leave, they began shooting, according to the arrest affidavit.
Riano said one of his workers was shot three times and laid down in the middle of the road, while another was shot twice and did the same. One employee was shot in the stomach, thigh and groin area, while the other was shot in the leg and thigh. Both workers are recovering at Orlando Health, according to Riano.
"The one guy that got shot three times, that's the one that worries me," Riano said. "He's bleeding, so I hope he is going to be OK. Think about all the harm you are doing. All these guys got families. All they do is just work, and it's just not fair."
Neighbor Vivy Day was inside her home next door when the violence erupted. "I was in my living room with my mom. My dad was out in his garage in the back, and we heard three gunshot sounds. But I thought it was like a nail gun thing. And then we started hearing screaming and running." Day stayed inside as events unfolded. "We locked all the doors, and we looked outside," she said. "We saw there was blood and a guy bleeding out and they called the ambulance."

The suspects fled in a green Ford Fusion, leading officers on a chase that stretched more than 10 miles before ending at a strip mall off Greenwood Boulevard in Lake Mary. The suspects were found in Lake Mary after they crashed their vehicle in the shopping center. The chase stretched from Orange County into Seminole County.
Both Callaway and Robinson were booked into jail on charges including attempted felony murder, armed burglary, armed robbery, and aggravated fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement. Additional charges include firing a gun from a vehicle within 1,000 feet of a person, aggravated fleeing, and discharging a firearm in public. Police identified Robinson as the driver and Callaway as the passenger.
Both men made their first court appearance and are being held without bond at the Seminole County Jail. They will remain in custody until Orange County deputies pick them up. The two injured workers have undergone surgery, and Riano said both men are still in significant pain and waiting to learn more from the medical team about what their recovery will look like.
