The family-owned shop marked its grand opening June 18 with a ribbon-cutting at 4110 West Superior Street, after first opening in April and spending its early months focused on fleet work before trying to build an individual customer base.

The business is positioning itself as a full-service repair shop, and its marketing leans hard on the kinds of details that matter when households are weighing a repair bill against the rest of the month’s expenses. Auto Value lists state-of-the-art tools, equipment and training, along with the Confidence Plus North American Warranty and SafeRoute Roadside Assistance. Auto Value also lists the shop’s hours as Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., while NAPA lists True North Automotive LLC at the same West Superior Street address.

That kind of pitch is aimed at a real local problem. In Duluth, a dependable car is not a luxury item. It gets people to work, school, medical appointments and summer travel across St. Louis County and beyond. When repair costs rise, trust becomes part of the price conversation, because customers want to know whether a shop is recommending work they need or padding the estimate.
