29 Elwood Students Selected for Suffolk County All-County Festivals March 14-15

Twenty-nine student musicians from the Elwood Union Free School District have been selected for the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Festivals, and their work will culminate in performances scheduled for March 14 and March 15 at St. Anthony’s High School, according to a March 5 announcement by Patch and a district social post. Patch reporter Kepherd Daniel framed the selection as “showcasing the strength of the Elwood Union Free School District’s music education program, 29 student musicians have been selected to participate in the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Festivals.”

From Elwood Middle School the selected students are Victoria Agrawal, William Brchnel, Sienna Boremski, Nora Brzezinski, Daniel D’Angeli, Madelyn DiLeone, Kailyn Dowlatram, Zoey Jung, Areeba Malhi, Allen McKenzie, Olivia Portugal, Melanie Shek and Brynn Winters. From Elwood-John H. Glenn High School the selected students are Mia Cruz, Gregory Gross, Mitchell Gross, Danika Jhaveri, Jewel Li, Madelyn Moreno, Ryan Myers, Logan Ouziel, Logan Yabut and Camille Zreik.

Patch outlined the festival schedule and education value, reporting that “the selected students will spend two weekends rehearsing challenging, high-level repertoire alongside top young musicians from across Suffolk County,” and that “the All-County Festivals bring together the county’s most talented student musicians, offering them the opportunity to collaborate, rehearse advanced musical selections, and perform under the direction of distinguished guest conductors.” The district’s social post included a collage of student photos on a blue and purple background and repeated the Patch roster; the post contained an internal artifact line reading, "DO NOT REMOVE!!!
