Yuriy Koghuch, 37, a resident of Mount Pocono, Pennsylvania, was arrested in Brooklyn on Feb. 19, 2026 and charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree after Suffolk County Police say he advertised and sold a stolen 2023 Ford F-150 for $30,000 to a North Lindenhurst woman. Police allege the vehicle was listed for sale on social media and that the transaction took place on Nov. 12, 2025.

When the buyer attempted to complete registration in Suffolk County, she discovered the truck had been reported stolen. "When the woman went to go register the vehicle, she was told that the truck was stolen," according to police reporting included in the investigation file. Suffolk County investigators tied that notice to a theft report filed in Alabama on Oct. 5, 2025 for the same model year pickup.

Detectives from the Suffolk County Police Property Auto Crime Unit opened the investigation after the North Lindenhurst resident reported the registration issue and say their work led to Koghuch's arrest in Brooklyn on Feb. 19. The unit identified social-media advertising as the method used to offer the 2023 Ford F-150 for sale and collected evidence that investigators contend links Koghuch to the November 2025 transaction.

Koghuch was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and was scheduled for arraignment at the First District Court in Central Islip, according to court scheduling information released by police. Published reports variously described the arraignment as scheduled "today," "Thursday," or "Friday"; the consistent detail across filings is that the First District Court in Central Islip was set to handle the arraignment.

Suffolk County Police are asking anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Koghuch to contact Property Auto Crime Unit Detectives at 631-852-6429. Property Auto Crime Unit detectives conducted the investigation that led to the Brooklyn arrest and are seeking additional victims or witnesses connected to the Oct. 5, 2025 stolen-vehicle report from Alabama and the Nov. 12, 2025 sale to the North Lindenhurst buyer.
