Charlestown selectboard schedules May 13 workshop, Zoom option announced

Charlestown residents still did not have a detailed agenda for the May 13 workshop, but the town did put the time, place and Zoom access in view. The notice on the official agendas page listed a Water/Wastewater/Selectboard Workshop for 6 p.m., and the Zoom invitation in the meeting notice named the session “SB Time” with a 5:30 p.m. Eastern start.

The workshop title pointed to water and wastewater business, likely alongside selectboard matters, though the town did not spell out which items were set for discussion. That matters because workshop sessions often shape the issues that later come back in a voting meeting, whether the subject is town spending, utility operations, permits or other day-to-day decisions that affect residents directly.

Anyone planning to attend in person could head to the Municipal Building Community Room at 233 Main Street in Charlestown. The town also provided remote access through Zoom, with meeting ID 853 4200 9261 and passcode 03603, giving residents a way to follow the conversation without going to the building.

The May 13 session was not an isolated date on Charlestown’s calendar. The agendas page also showed a Selectboard Meeting Agenda for May 6 at 5:30 p.m. and a Selectboard Workshop Agenda for April 29 at 5:30 p.m., part of a steady run of board business through late April and early May. The town’s news page also showed a Selectboard Meeting in the Community Room or via Zoom on April 15, reinforcing that hybrid access had already become part of how the board handled public business this spring.

Charlestown’s town-office page says the selectboard normally meets every first and third Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Municipal Building Community Room. The board currently lists Shelly Blouin-Andrus as chair, with Nancy Houghton, Trish Beaudry, Steven Neill and Charles Baraly serving as members.
