Claremont Police Commission Sets April 7 Public Meeting for Department Oversight
John Hall, Mark Limoges, and Bernard Dube Sr., Claremont's three civilian police overseers, convene with Chief Wilmot on Tuesday at 14 North St. for the April 7 commission meeting at 5:30 p.m.

John Hall, Mark Limoges, and Bernard Dube Sr., the three City Council appointees who hold civilian oversight authority over Claremont's police department, will convene with Chief Brent Wilmot on Tuesday at 14 North Street, opening the floor to public questions on complaints, use of force, and staffing.
The session, scheduled for 5:30 p.m. at the North Street Visitor Center, gives residents their first April opportunity to put direct questions to the commission on the record. Hall's Seat 1 appointment runs through the end of this year; Limoges holds Seat 2 through 2027; Dube Sr. fills Seat 3 through 2028.
The commission is the civilian body charged with governing the Claremont Police Department, one of the few mechanisms in city government where department operations, budget requests, and policy direction are subject to public scrutiny outside of City Council chambers. Outcomes from commission meetings can include recommended changes to departmental policy, formal commitments from Wilmot's command staff, referrals to the City Council for budget action, or escalation to state entities on personnel matters.
Any resident tracking enforcement patterns, use-of-force incidents, officer training, or the allocation of policing resources across the city can raise those concerns during the meeting's public-comment period. Commissioners have the authority to question the chief and department representatives on the record, making them directly accountable for whatever answers the department provides.
Supplemental materials and any remote-access instructions will be posted to the commission's page on the city's official website before Tuesday. Residents with document requests can contact the commission's clerk or the city's administrative offices directly.
