Grantham Voters Approve Budget, Zoning Changes at Town and School Meetings
About 100 Grantham voters approved a nearly $13 million school budget and a zero-cap open enrollment policy, while the March 10 town meeting passed zoning changes but rejected a land-preservation article.

Grantham voters approved a sweep of warrant articles at both the town and school meetings this month, passing a nearly $13 million school budget, multiple zoning changes, and an open enrollment policy, while drawing a line at altering the town's land-preservation protections.
At the March 10, 2026 town meeting session, voters approved the operating budget and multiple proposed zoning changes. They also rejected at least one article that would have modified the town's existing land-preservation framework, leaving those protections intact for now.
The school meeting drew approximately 100 voters, who approved every article on the warrant. SAU 75 executive assistant Brenda Molloy confirmed the clean sweep Wednesday. Among the approved items was a budget of nearly $13 million for Grantham Village School and a new open enrollment policy governing nonresident student attendance.
The open enrollment policy carries an unusual cap: it allows nonresident students to attend Grantham Village School "in an amount not to exceed zero percent (0%) of the school's total enrollment." Under the same framework, a like percentage of Grantham students will be allowed to attend schools in other districts that maintain open enrollment policies.
Voters who did not attend the deliberative school meeting still had a role to play. Ballot voting to elect school officers was scheduled for Tuesday, March 10, with polls open in the school gym from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The dollar figure for the town operating budget was not immediately available, nor were vote tallies for individual town or school articles. Official minutes from the town clerk and SAU 75 are expected to provide a full accounting of the results.
