Deputies with the Summit County Sheriff's Office discovered a deceased individual on High View Road near Browns Canyon Road in the Peoa area of eastern Summit County on Wednesday evening, touching off an investigation that authorities say remains in its preliminary stages.
The sheriff's office has not released the identity of the person, and officials have not determined whether the death was accidental. Sergeant Skyler Talbot, a spokesperson for the Summit County Sheriff's Office, provided information about the ongoing investigation, which involves both deputies and investigators working the scene.
"There is no known threat to public safety at this time," the sheriff's office said.
High View Road sits in the rural eastern stretch of Summit County, well removed from the Park City corridor, in the agricultural community of Peoa near Browns Canyon Road. The area is sparsely populated, and the circumstances that led deputies to respond to the location have not been disclosed.
