EngineHouse Apartments near completion, Park City prepares move ins
Crews finished exterior landscaping and interior finish work at the EngineHouse Apartments at 1875 Homestake Road, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting scheduled for December 19 and move ins expected about a week later. The 123 unit development will add 99 income restricted workforce rentals and 24 market rate units, a significant step toward easing local housing pressure.

On November 28, 2025 the EngineHouse Apartments on Kearns Boulevard edged toward completion as crews laid grass and installed a new pathway while finish work continued inside the building. Park City is preparing for a ceremonial ribbon cutting on December 19 and move ins are expected roughly a week after that, marking the culmination of a partnership launched at a ceremonial groundbreaking in fall 2023 attended by Mayor Nann Worel, members of the Park City Council, and representatives of developer J. Fisher Companies.
The project at 1875 Homestake Road occupies just under two acres that the city leased to J. Fisher Companies for 99 years at a rate of one dollar per year. The development offers 123 rental units, including 99 designated for workforce or otherwise income restricted housing and 24 to be rented at market rates. Renters for the income restricted units will be required to qualify based on their incomes, with restriction levels tied to area median income and one person household limits and other AMI thresholds available in developer materials.
Every unit includes an underground parking spot, and the building will offer a coffee shop, a mail room and a gym. Some units will have unobstructed views of the Park City Mountain slopes. The project offers a variety of floor plans to serve single person households and families. Interest in the new apartments has been strong, with more than 600 people adding their names to an interest list and about 80 completed applications recorded by mid week.

For Summit County residents the EngineHouse represents both immediate new supply and a test of municipal tools to expand affordable housing. The city retained long term control of the land to preserve affordability, while a private developer assumed construction and management responsibilities. The addition of 99 income restricted rentals should help employers and workers who have struggled to find housing inside the resort area, but the large interest list indicates demand will remain high even after move ins begin in late December.
