Bucknell Defender Kira Leclercq Named NFHCA Third Team All American

Kira Leclercq capped a four year career at Bucknell by earning Third Team All American honors from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association, a distinction that makes her the fourth All American in program history. The senior captain finished the 2025 season as one of the Patriot League and national leaders in defensive and offensive production, and her selection continues Bucknell s recent run of national recognition.

Leclercq led Bucknell in both defensive and offensive operations in 2025, tallying six defensive saves, 13 goals, and 32 points, each of which placed second in the Patriot League. She ranked nationally fifth in defensive saves, 24th in goals per game with 0.76, and 27th in points per game at 1.88. Her performance helped the Bison reach a 10 and 7 record, the program s first double digit win total since 2018.

Her career numbers rewrote portions of the Bucknell and Patriot League record books. Leclercq finished second in Bison career defensive saves with 27, tied for seventh in career points with 73, and ranked ninth in career goals with 27. She holds four slots in Bucknell s single season archives, including three for defensive saves and one for points, and her 27 career defensive saves stand fourth in conference history. She also led the NCAA in defensive saves in 2024 with nine.

Leclercq s trophy case includes consecutive Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year awards in 2024 and 2025, three NFHCA All Region selections, All Patriot League recognition every season, two First Team All ECAC nods, two Academic All Patriot League selections, and placement on the 2025 NFHCA Division I All Senior Team. She was one of three Patriot League players among the 48 national honorees and joined American University players Jordan Reicher and Agustina Roffo on the Third Team.

Bucknell head coach Kelsey Kolojejchick praised Leclercq s achievement. "I'm extremely proud of Kira for earning this accomplishment," Kolojejchick said. "Being named to the All American team is a testament to her dedication, consistency, and the hard work she's put in throughout this season and her time at Bucknell. For Union County the honor elevates local visibility for Bucknell athletics, strengthens the program s recruiting narrative, and provides a touchstone for youth field hockey and community support for college sports. Leclercq plans to pursue graduate work in applied geoscience while remaining involved in field hockey in a coaching capacity, a path that keeps her connected to the region and to the development of the sport locally.
