Massachusetts Driver Caught on I-80 With Marijuana, Handgun, Fake IDs
A Worcester, Mass. man was arrested on I-80 in White Deer Township after a K-9 sniff led troopers to 10 pounds of marijuana and a loaded handgun in his center console.

A routine traffic stop on Interstate 80 in White Deer Township unraveled quickly for a 24-year-old Massachusetts man when a state police K-9 flagged his vehicle and troopers found roughly 10 pounds of vacuum-sealed marijuana, a loaded handgun and multiple fake IDs inside.
Corporal Mark Conrad pulled over George Herbert Bond, of Grant Street, Worcester, at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 after Bond's 2025 Nissan sedan was clocked speeding and following another vehicle too closely on I-80. When Conrad made contact with Bond, he noticed what the affidavit describes as indicators of criminal activity. A narcotics detection K-9 was brought in for an exterior sweep of the car; the dog indicated the presence of controlled substances, giving Conrad probable cause to seek a search warrant.
Once the warrant was served, troopers searched the vehicle and found a loaded Taurus 9 mm pistol in the center console. In the trunk, they recovered vacuum-sealed bags of marijuana totaling approximately 10 pounds, bulk U.S. currency and narcotics packaging material. Bond was also carrying multiple fake identification cards.

Bond faces seven charges in all: three felonies and four misdemeanors. The felony counts include drug possession with intent to deliver, conducting a financial transaction with knowledge that funds were stolen and illegally carrying a firearm without a license. The four misdemeanor counts cover possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, identity theft and forgery. The charges were filed by Corporal Conrad in the Mifflinburg office of District Judge Jeffrey Mensch.
Bond was arraigned and bail was set at $100,000 cash. He is scheduled to appear before Judge Mensch for a preliminary hearing at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 24.
