Mifflinburg School Board Sets March 2026 Work Session, Posts Materials Online

The Mifflinburg Area School District posted notice and supporting materials for a School Board work session to its official All District News page ahead of the March 3 session, giving the public advance access to linked district documents before board members convened.

The work session follows the board's regular August 12, 2025 meeting, where President Tom Eberhart called the board to order at 6:32 p.m. with eight of nine members present. That August meeting produced a notable round of community donations totaling more than $7,500 in private support for district programs. The Mifflinburg Football Boosters contributed $4,572 for a new sound system at the high school stadium, the single largest gift accepted. The board also approved four new support staff hires for the 2025-2026 school year under agenda item 31. Addison Kraus of Mifflinburg was approved as a classroom aide at the elementary school at $12.00 per hour. Ruth Richards of Mifflinburg was hired as a Category 1 Aide at the intermediate school at $12.50 per hour, and Aleigha Hakes of New Berlin joined as a Category 2 Aide at the elementary school at the same rate. A fourth hire, Linda Williamson of Middleburg, was listed but details of her assignment were not fully captured in available records.

Motion 36, approving short-term substitutes to cover the district from August 18 through October 10, 2025, passed unanimously on a roll call vote with all eight present members voting yes: Troy Zimmerman, Benfer, Eberhart, Carl Emery, Jodi Marshall, Snook, Brandon Straub, and Melissa Wagner.

Superintendent Kenneth Dady, Business Administrator Renee Jilinski, and IT Director Peter Geipel were present at the August session alongside Board Secretary Tammy L. Boop and Solicitor Austin White.
