Scott Hahn, sworn in as Union County Sheriff in January, announced this week that his office will launch a dedicated public services website during the week of April 13, centralizing services that currently require a phone call or an in-person visit to the Government Center in Lewisburg.

The sheriff's office described the new site as a "hub" for residents, business owners and attorneys who routinely need permit forms, application documents and general information about department operations. Warrant inquiries, printable permit and application forms, information on the K-9 unit, and guidance on courthouse security and civil process services will all be accessible from a single, mobile-friendly location.

The warrant inquiry feature, which will allow anyone to check the status of active warrants without contacting staff directly, addresses one of the more routine demands on the sheriff's switchboard. Officials indicated the site's primary operational goal is to redirect that kind of traffic online and free administrative staff to handle matters that require a live response.

Hahn has emphasized modernization and community outreach since taking office, and the website reflects that posture. County IT staff and communications contractors are working with the sheriff's office to bring the portal live; once launched, it will be linked from the county's existing sheriff's office page and is built to offer a more functional and searchable experience than the current county entry.

Attorneys and bail bonds businesses, both of which interface regularly with the sheriff's office on civil process and inmate transport matters, are among the frequent users expected to benefit most from predictable online access. The K-9 program section will also include information on scheduling outreach appearances and public demonstrations.

Officials made clear the new site does not replace in-person services or phone support for urgent matters, and asked that time-sensitive requests continue to go directly through the sheriff's phone line. Future features, subject to budget and county IT approvals, could include online appointment scheduling and reporting tools.

The launch is set for Monday, April 13, with the link expected to appear on the county website once the site goes live.
