Senior forward Morgan Seagreaves had the flu and strep throat heading into Saturday's game. She scored 21 points anyway.

Seagreaves led a shorthanded Allentown Central Catholic squad past District 4 runner-up Mifflinburg Area 60-43 in the PIAA Class 4A first round at Rockne Hall on March 7, pushing the Vikettes into the second round of the state tournament. The win ended Mifflinburg's season at 15-11.

Seagreaves set the tone immediately, rattling off eight consecutive points in the opening period. Her left-handed layup with 3:29 remaining in the first quarter gave Central Catholic a lead it would not surrender. Sophomore guard Alyssa Hursh then closed the quarter with three straight 3-pointers, and the Vikettes walked into the second with a 19-9 advantage.

The game effectively broke open during what coach Kathy Davidowich called one of her team's best stretches, a run from the middle of the first quarter through late in the second in which Central Catholic outscored Mifflinburg 24-8. The Wildcats never recovered, trailing by double digits through the final buzzer.

Hursh finished with 18 points, going 6-for-7 from beyond the arc. The 86 percent three-point accuracy was the highest she had posted since December 2025. Seagreaves, meanwhile, drew 16 free-throw attempts and converted nine of them to go along with six field goals, finishing at 86 percent shooting from the field according to MaxPreps.

"I was like, I'm not losing this game," Seagreaves said afterward. "I still have a cough and a little bit of congestion, but besides that, I'm feeling much better."

The two-player performance carried added weight given the circumstances surrounding Central Catholic entering the postseason. Sophomore Skylar Taylor was unavailable after an appendectomy, and Seagreaves was not the only Vikette battling illness during the week.

Davidowich credited her players for rising above it. "I was very proud of our team today," she said. "A lot of our girls were sick this week and we came out today and played really well right from the start. This was a very good win."

Avery Reibsome led Mifflinburg with 17 points, and Parice Shuck added 12. The Wildcats scored 14 points in the third quarter but managed only nine in both the first and fourth periods, never finding the consistency to threaten Central Catholic's margin.

The remaining scoring for the Vikettes was spread across the roster: Shamiya Roberts added five points, while Samantha Polanco, Annika Spinosa, Emma Molchany, and Gianna Menecola each contributed four.

Central Catholic, now 15-12 on the season, faces a significant challenge in the second round. District 2 champion Scranton Prep, which carries a 21-5 record into Wednesday's 6:00 p.m. matchup, routed the Vikettes 74-36 at the same stage of last year's tournament. The rematch will test whether the team that dismantled Mifflinburg with sick players and a missing starter can sustain that level against a program that sent them home decisively twelve months ago.
