Del Rio College Students Win Top Honors at Texas Regional Conference
Southwest Texas College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter brought home 1st place in the Digital Yearbook competition and multiple other honors from the Texas regional conference in Fort Worth.

Students from Southwest Texas College's Alpha Omega Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa returned from Fort Worth last week with multiple top honors from the Texas regional conference, including first place in the Digital Yearbook competition.
The wins add a competitive milestone to a chapter that has been building its reputation since its founding in Del Rio in 1994. Alpha Omega Iota is the PTK chapter associated with Southwest Texas College's Del Rio Campus and counts over 1,378 members and alumni across its 32-year history.
The Texas regional conference draws chapters from across a PTK network that spans more than 90 chapters statewide, making a first-place finish in any category a significant competitive achievement. The Digital Yearbook award recognizes chapters that document their year's work, service projects, and membership milestones in a polished digital format, and has been a competitive category at Texas regional PTK conventions in recent years.
Chapter leaders at Alpha Omega Iota have been active on multiple fronts heading into the conference, working on service and research projects both on campus and in the community. Recent chapter projects include "Architecture and Design of Play: A Walk in Nature for a Better Future," "A Clean Connection With Nature," and a series of Phi Theta Kappa Awareness Activities.
The chapter operates under the guidance of three advisors: Darlene Quintero, who serves as the primary contact advisor and can be reached at (830) 507-9628; Dr. Nancy Masterson at (630) 703-1552; and Sandra Montes at (830) 703-1595. PTK Headquarters has also assigned Melissa Price to work directly with the Alpha Omega Iota chapter for individual student support.
The full list of awards the Del Rio delegation earned at Fort Worth has not been released, but the chapter confirmed the wins represented multiple top honors from the March 2026 conference. Students or families interested in joining the chapter can contact the advisors listed above or visit the Alpha Omega Iota page on the Phi Theta Kappa website.
