Laughlin AFB Fiesta of Flight Open House Set for March 28

Laughlin Air Force Base's annual Fiesta of Flight Open House will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, March 28, city and base organizers confirmed in a March 12 news post, ending weeks of uncertainty that had shadowed the event amid cancellations of other military open houses across the country.

The airshow is free and open to the general public. Attendees will enter through the North Gate off US HWY 90, and no identification will be required for general visitors. Distinguished visitors, media, and vendors will be vetted prior to the event.

Organizers are advising attendees to plan for a roughly half-mile walk from the parking area to the show grounds, and comfortable shoes are encouraged. Shuttle access will be limited, so visitors should factor the walk into their arrival plans. A specific show start time has not yet been announced, and the aerial performance schedule remains to be determined.

The airshow is designed to showcase U.S. Air Force capabilities through flying demonstrations. Promotional and listing pages for the event reference aircraft including T-38 Talons, F-16 Fighting Falcons, transport planes, and aerobatic performers. An F-35A Demo Team and the T-33 Ace Maker are also listed as potential participants, though Laughlin AFB has not yet released a finalized, official performance roster. Confirmation of specific acts should be sought through the base's public affairs office before the event.

Ground-level attractions are expected to include static displays, ground exhibits, food vendors, and family-friendly activities, consistent with the event's previous years.
