Feb. 3 Vinton County Commissioners Meeting Moved to 6:30 p.m.
Commissioners moved the Feb. 3 meeting to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate residents who requested an evening start.

The Vinton County Commissioners will hold their regular weekly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3, instead of the usual 10:00 a.m., giving residents who work daytime hours a better chance to attend. The meeting will take place in the commissioners’ office at the Vinton County Courthouse, 100 E. Main St., McArthur, OH 45651; the office is on the first floor to the right of the lobby.
County officials say the change was made in direct response to public input from residents who expressed a desire for a meeting time that was more convenient. “The Vinton County Commissioners have changed the time for their regular weekly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 3. Instead of a start time of 10 a.m., the Feb. 3 meeting is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. start in their office at the Vinton County Courthouse.” As always, the public is welcome to attend this and any Commissioners’ meeting, and “this is a regular meeting and the usual rules apply.”
Residents who want to speak at the meeting must be placed on the agenda in advance. “Those wishing to speak at the meeting should call the Commissioners’ Office at 740-596-4571 to be placed on the agenda.” Both 740-596-4571 and 740-790-7018 appear on county materials as contact numbers for the commissioners’ office; the clerk of commissioners, Cathi Mountjoy, is listed with the 740-790-7018 number. The commissioners’ fax is 740-596-9446 and general email contact is commissioners@vintonco.com. The Commissioners’ Development Department is at 205 S. Market St., McArthur, OH 45651, and can be reached at 740-596-3529.
Following the meeting, Vinton County Auditor Cindy Waugh will be available to answer questions from the public. The board that will meet includes Commissioners Kevin Cozad, Tim Eberts, and Jeffery Harper, III. Regular meetings are normally held every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. unless otherwise scheduled; special meetings are called and posted on the Commissioners’ page as needed.
For Vinton County residents juggling work and family schedules, the evening meeting offers a rare opportunity to bring concerns in person without taking daytime hours off. Call 740-596-4571 to request a spot on the agenda, or use the office numbers and email above to confirm logistics or ask about the posted agenda ahead of the meeting.
