Londonderry Man Charged After Assaulting Two Vinton County Deputies During Domestic Call
A Londonderry man was subdued with a taser after allegedly assaulting two deputies who responded to a domestic call on Old Route 50.

A midday domestic disturbance call on Old Route 50 in Harrison Township turned violent last Thursday when a Londonderry man allegedly attacked two Vinton County Sheriff's Office deputies, injuring both before he was brought down with a taser.
According to a VCSO activity report, deputies responded around noon on March 19 to the reported disturbance. When they attempted to take the suspect into custody, he became aggressive, and the confrontation left two deputies with minor injuries before he was subdued with the assistance of a taser.
The suspect, Dustin Forrest, 39, of Londonderry, was arrested and faces six charges: Assault on a Police Officer, Domestic Violence, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Official Business, and two counts of Aggravated Menacing. He was transported to the Southeast Ohio Regional Jail following his arrest.
The charge of Assault on a Police Officer carries significant weight under Ohio law, typically classified as a felony when the victim is a law enforcement officer. The Aggravated Menacing counts suggest prosecutors believe Forrest also made credible threats of serious harm during the incident, though details of those specific allegations were not available from the VCSO activity report.
The names of the two deputies who sustained minor injuries have not been released, and no further information about the nature of their injuries or whether they required hospital treatment was available from the activity report. No statements from the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, the Vinton County Prosecutor's Office, or defense counsel for Forrest had been issued as of publication. Court records confirming arraignment details, a case number, or bond conditions for Forrest were not immediately available.
