Vinton County Probate Court Issues New Round of Marriage Licenses
A McDonald's employee from Cleveland and a registered nurse from Athens are among four couples who recently filed for marriage licenses at the Vinton County Probate Court.

The Vinton County Probate Court's latest batch of marriage license filings drew applicants from well beyond the county's borders, with three of the four couples including at least one partner from a neighboring or distant county.
The most geographically distant applicant was Luis Galarza, 54, of Cleveland. A McDonald's employee residing in Cuyahoga County, Galarza filed alongside Olga Torres David, 49, of Hamden, a homemaker who lives in the Vinton County village. The two were among four couples whose applications were processed by the court and entered into the public record at the end of March.
Timothy Pettit Jr., 36, and Shawnda Lacy, 54, were the only fully in-county couple in the batch, with both listing Zaleski as their home address in southern Vinton County. Pettit is listed as self-employed; Lacy as a homemaker.
James West, 54, of McArthur, and Sheri Bailey, 48, also filed together. Bailey, a registered nurse, lives in Athens, the seat of neighboring Athens County. West, a businessman, is based in McArthur.
Chase Gilmore, 22, and Destany Sullivan, 23, rounded out the filings. Gilmore, a FedEx employee, lists Kingston as his home address, a village in Ross County to the west of Vinton County. Sullivan, who works in housekeeping, resides in Ray.
The licenses are processed by the Vinton County Probate Court in McArthur under Ohio Revised Code Chapter 3101, which governs marriage license issuance at the county level statewide. Residents needing certified copies can contact the Vinton County Probate Clerk's office directly. The batch spans an age range of 22 to 54 and draws applicants from Cuyahoga, Athens, Ross, and Vinton counties, a geographic spread that reflects the court's function as a vital-records hub serving communities well beyond McArthur.
