Vinton SWCD to Hold Monthly Meetings on Second Wednesdays at 4 p.m.
Vinton SWCD will hold monthly board meetings on the second Wednesday at 4 p.m. at its McArthur office, giving residents a regular opportunity to follow local conservation work.

The Vinton Soil and Water Conservation District announced that it will hold monthly board meetings on the second Wednesday of every month at 4 p.m. Meetings will take place at the district office at 31935 St Rt 93, McArthur, OH 45651, the announcement said.
The office is located in the basement of the Community Building and can be accessed on the east side of the building facing OH-93. Office hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., so the 4 p.m. meeting time falls within posted hours. Residents who prefer to reach staff by phone can call (740) 596-5676 for directions or basic information.
The district’s board of supervisors and staff are listed on the SWCD website and provide the leadership and technical support for local conservation programs. The board includes Bradley Carter, Chairperson; Teresa Snider, Vice Chairperson; Arthur Martin, Treasurer; Jason Good, Secretary; and Melissa McDaniels, Member-at-Large. Staff listed on the site are Brittany Craig, Administrative Specialist; Cameron Uptmor, Forester/Wildlife Specialist; and Tim Pettet, Agriculture Specialist. Staff email addresses on the site appear obfuscated; callers should use the office phone for direct contact.
The SWCD lists several program headings on its site, including an Annual Tree Sale, along with sections titled Our Mission and Our History & Who We are. The site also posts a community acknowledgement: "Thank you to our Affiliate Members! Their support allows us to keep providing conservation guidance to Vinton County." Regular board meetings offer a venue for oversight of those programs and for residents to track local conservation priorities.
The news release directed residents and partners to the district’s website for additional information; the published announcement ended midword and did not specify what further material was available online. The site extract provided program and contact details but did not include meeting agendas, minutes, or guidance on remote attendance and holiday scheduling.
For residents, the new regular cadence creates a predictable forum to raise questions about erosion control, forestry assistance, the annual tree sale and other local initiatives. Those seeking agendas, minutes, public-participation rules or verification of specific meeting dates should contact the SWCD office by phone or consult the district’s website before attending. Future coverage will report any changes to the schedule and whether the district posts agendas or offers remote access for meetings.
