Apex Town Council to Consider Multiple Annexations During Electronic January Meeting
Apex Town Council held an electronic meeting Jan. 27 and moved to set Feb. 10 public hearings on multiple annexation petitions that could shape local development and zoning.

Apex Town Council used an electronic meeting on Jan. 27 to advance several annexation petitions and related consent items that could change land use at key Apex corridors. Council members voted to begin the formal investigation process and to schedule public hearings on Feb. 10 for multiple parcels, a step that brings proposed developments closer to local review and possible incorporation into town limits.
The council’s consent agenda included a motion that reads in part: “Motion to adopt a Resolution Directing the Town Clerk to Investigate Petition Received, to accept the Certificate of Sufficiency by the Town Clerk, and to adopt a Resolution Setting the Date of a Public Hearing for February 10, 2026, on the Question of Annexation - Apex Town Council's intent to annex 5.23 acres, located at 7625 Roberts Road (PIN 0723-95-2564), 0 Roberts Road (PIN 0723-95-5524), and 8112 Green Level Church Road (PIN 0723-95-2216), Annexation No. 802, into the Town Corporate limits.” The packet for Annexation No. 802 included a legal description, aerial and plat maps, a certificate of sufficiency, and the annexation petition.
Annexation No. 802 covers 5.23 acres at the intersection of Roberts Road and Green Level Church Road and is zoned B1, Neighborhood Business. The packet notes the annexation is “associated with a proposed development” at that intersection but is not tied to any rezoning case at this time. Other consent items advanced to set Feb. 10 hearings include Annexation No. 817 (Peak City Church, 23.87 acres at 2401 and 2325 Old US 1 Highway), Annexation No. 818 (Jainix LLC, 3.502 acres at 7809 Secluded Acres), and Annexation No. 820 (3.803 acres at 2301 Apex Peakway). The town’s public hearings list also shows Annexation No. 812 (2.13 acres at 2224 Olive Chapel Road) on the Jan. 27 calendar and Annexation No. 807 (3.35 acres at 8905 Castleberry Road, tied to rezoning 25CZ11) continued to Feb. 24.
The meeting ran under electronic rules: “Viewing the Meeting Live: Public viewing will be available (HERE), but no public comment will be received during the meeting.” Officials also warned, “Please note, this electronic meeting will only be viewable live using the link above.” The council set an adjournment limit: “The meeting will adjourn when all business is concluded or 10:00 PM, whichever comes first.” Residents with viewing issues were directed to the Town Clerk's Office at (919) 249-1260 or townclerk@apexnc.org.
Beyond annexations, the consent agenda included an interlocal reimbursement agreement with Wake County for participation in an Executive Master of Public Administration program and a $2,110,854 North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality Spring 2025 Flood Resiliency Grant listed in Budget Ordinance Amendment No. 10.
For Apex residents, the Feb. 10 public hearings are the next formal opportunity to hear details, raise concerns, and see how proposed projects would affect traffic, utilities, and neighborhood character. Town Clerk Allen L. Coleman will advertise the hearings electronically and on the town website, and the council’s actions now move these petitions from filing toward public scrutiny and final decisions.
