Garner Police Seek Shooter After Bullet Hits GoRaleigh Bus
A bullet struck a window of GoRaleigh bus No. 20 on Garner Road Tuesday night with three passengers aboard; no one was hurt and the shooter remains at large.

A bullet punched through a window of GoRaleigh bus No. 20 while three passengers sat inside, sending Garner Police Department officers to the 800 block of Garner Road around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. No one was injured, but the person who fired the shot has not been identified.
Officers discovered the window had been struck by gunfire after responding to reports of a shooting on March 17. All three riders on board at the time escaped without injury, and GPD detectives took over the investigation.
By March 18, Garner police had issued a public appeal for information, asking anyone with knowledge of the shooting to come forward. No suspect description, vehicle description, or motive had been released as of that appeal, and no arrests have been announced.

The incident raises immediate questions about security along the Garner Road corridor for GoRaleigh riders who depend on the route. Neither the Garner Police Department nor GoRaleigh had released a formal statement addressing whether bus No. 20 remained in service after the shooting or whether any on-board or roadside surveillance footage had been shared with investigators.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Garner Police Department.
