GoTriangle Seeks Public Comment Feb. 25 on FTA-Funded FY2026 Projects
GoTriangle is taking public comment at noon Feb. 25 in Durham on a $16,626,939 FTA-funded FY2026 program with $10,113,623 federal and $6,513,316 local funds.

GoTriangle will hold a public hearing at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, to solicit public comments on its proposed FYs 2026 Program of Projects for the utilization of Federal grant funds from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) under Section 5307 of Title 49, United States Code." The hearing is set for 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2026, in the GoTriangle Conference Room at 4600 Emperor Boulevard, Suite 100, Durham.
The proposed Program of Projects totals $16,626,939 and lists specific line items: Preventive Maintenance at $5,467,297, Replacement Buses at $7,661,171, Expansion Buses at $3,238,471, and Bus Stop Improvements at $260,000. The classified notice published Feb. 9-13, 2026, shows a funding split of Federal $10,113,623 and Local $6,513,316 for the FY2026 POP.
GoTriangle’s notice preserves the mechanics for finalizing the plan: "The proposed Program of Projects is included below and will become final unless it is amended in response to comments received. If amended, the Final Program of Projects will be published. GoTriangle will make applications to the FTA for grant funds up to the amounts listed in the final Program of Projects." Written materials supporting the POP are available for inspection at the GoTriangle Administrative Office during normal business hours, 9am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
Members of the public may comment in person at the Feb. 25 hearing or submit written comments to GoTriangle, PO Box 13787, RTP, NC 27709, Attn: Heather Bruce, Grant Programs Manager. The GoTriangle notice states comments may be submitted "in writing (prior to February 25,2026)," while the classified ad instructs written submissions "by Feb. 25, 2026"; both communications center the deadline on the hearing date. Journalists and residents seeking direct assistance or clarification can reference Heather Bruce at the mailing address above.
Accessibility arrangements are being handled through the GoTriangle receptionist: "Persons with disabilities or who otherwise may need special accommodations for the public hearing should contact the GoTriangle Receptionist at (919) 485-7510 prior to 5pm on February 24, 2026. GoTriangle will accommodate all reasonable requests." For trip planning or general information, GoTriangle lists (919) 485-RIDE (7433) on its site footer.
The public hearing and comment window will determine whether the proposed $16,626,939 POP remains as advertised or is amended before GoTriangle submits FTA Section 5307 grant applications. The notice carries the signature line of Dr. Brian Smith, President and CEO, and directs written comments to Heather Bruce, Grant Programs Manager, making clear which officials will receive and process public input.
