No injuries reported after multiple homes, vehicles hit in suspected targeted shooting
More than 40 bullet markings were found after gunfire struck the 3500 block of Streams of Fields Drive just after 5 a.m.; police say two homes and at least two vehicles were hit and no one was injured.

Gunfire ripped through a northeast Raleigh street just after 5 a.m. on Feb. 18, 2026, striking at least two homes and at least two vehicles in the 3500 block of Streams of Fields Drive, Raleigh police said. Investigators spent hours on the scene documenting damage and placing evidence markers while the neighborhood remained blocked off, WTVD reported.
Assessments at the scene showed heavy damage: WRAL reported that there were more than 40 bullet markings on cars, homes, a mailbox and at least one tree, and one home window was shattered. WRAL also noted a bullet hole in the back windshield of a silver SUV; other outlets described multiple cars and homes hit around 5:15 a.m.
The woman who lives in one of the struck houses told WRAL that someone fired a gun into her home while her children and her boyfriend were inside. She told WRAL she was "on her way home from work at the time and talking to her boyfriend on FaceTime when shots were fired," and that she "had lived there six years without any issues."
Neighbors described a pattern of crime and frequent police visits on the street. Paul Abbott, identified by WRAL as a neighbor, said, "I've had items stolen out of my vehicle. There's a lot of activity that's going on. We just want to know that we're safe, that something's being done to deter that activity." Social media comments on the initial television post reflected similar concerns about rising crime and city growth, with one commenter writing, "Raleigh has gotten too busy, too overpopulated and crime is escalating. This always happens when a small city becomes bigger."

Raleigh police told WTVD they are searching for whoever opened fire and that no arrests have been made; the department has not released a suspect description or motive. WRAL's Breaking News Tracker and WTVD reporters observed investigators placing evidence markers in yards and across the street as they documented the scene.
Authorities have not released specifics about the number of rounds fired, recovered shell casings, weapon type or whether the shooting is being treated as targeted beyond the homeowner's account. WTVD and WRAL reported the investigation remains active; police have not announced any further findings as of the afternoon of Feb. 18. Raleigh police continue to investigate and have not released suspect details or arrests.
