Pardrea's Sports Bar Set to Open on Raleigh's Tryon Road in April

Pardrea's Sports Bar is weeks away from opening its doors at 330 Tryon Road in Raleigh, with owner Michael Phillips targeting a first-week-of-April debut once the state finalizes his alcohol permits.

Phillips secured a certificate of occupancy on February 26, and the space has since cleared recent inspections and approvals. The one remaining hurdle is paperwork tied to alcohol licensing, which Phillips said he is waiting on before setting a firm opening day.

The bar's concept grew out of Phillips' own history as a Philadelphia sports fan who eventually put down roots in North Carolina. Rather than build the business around a single franchise, he designed it as a home for the entire NFC East division. "I decided to make it an NFC East bar," Phillips said. "I need the Giants fans, the Redskins fans, the Cowboys fans, and the Eagles fans. Those games will always be locked in on the screens here, and so will our home team of the Carolina Panthers."

On the food side, Phillips is keeping the opening menu tight. Wings and fries will anchor the kitchen, but rotating food trucks parked on site will expand the options night to night, with vendors potentially serving burgers or tacos depending on the evening's programming theme. "We're going to keep it simple," Phillips said. "We'll start with fries and wings and then branch out."

The bar will open with bottled and canned beer alongside a limited liquor selection, with Phillips saying he plans to expand the drink menu as customer demand becomes clearer.
